Geneva International airport (GVA)

Geneva Airport is an international airport that has good connectivity from several places across the globe. The airport is shared by both France and Switzerland since it is closely located near the border. If you are travelling to Geneva, you can also download their airport mobile application from the website, which can be useful for scanning boarding pass, travel assistance, flight sharing, parking availability, an interactive map, and more. For the full lowdown on how to make every day amazing when you get there, you can find all the insider inspiration you need in our Geneva destination guide.

Airport Hours

The Geneva Airport offers round-the-clock arrival and departure for your convenience.

Terminal Information

The airport in Geneva has two passenger terminals: T1 and T2. Terminal 1 is the main terminal, which is divided into five piers from A to F. The F pier is called the French Sector, which, as the name suggests, is used exclusively for passengers who are arriving from or departing from any of the French destinations. Together with Turkish Airlines, we at IndiGo can connect you from India to Geneva with multiple flights to Geneva options as well as to several other European cities from Istanbul.

Geneva Airport features only one runway, but it is the longest runway in Switzerland at 3,900 m in length.

Visa and Immigration

If you’re an Indian passport holder travelling to Geneva, then you have to apply for a Schengen visa, even though Switzerland is not a part of the EU. The Schengen visa allows tourists for a short stay; it is issued to tourists for up to 90 days from the date of entry, who are planning to visit Geneva for tourism purposes or to meet their friends and family.

One of the essential points to remember while applying for the visa is that your passport should be valid for at least six months prior to your travel date.

To ensure a hassle-free and seamless travel, here is a detailed information about the Switzerland visa – www.goindigo.in/information/visa-information/switzerland-ch-visa.html
