Salzburg Airport

Salzburg Airport, also called the Mozart Airport, is an international entry point to get to the city. The airport is well connected to major cities across Europe. Since the airport is on the outskirts of the city, the distance is around 6.5 km to the city centre. You can get the city buses No. 2 and No. 10, which go to the city centre.

For the full lowdown on how to make every day amazing when you get there, you can find all the insider inspiration you need in our Salzburg destination guide.

Visa and Immigration

Since Austria is a Schengen country, you will need a Schengen visa to visit Salzburg. Depending on the length of stay you applied for, tourists are permitted to stay for up to 90 days from the date of entry. The Schengen visa is a short stay visa issued to visit the Schengen countries.  If your stay exceeds 90 days, you will need to apply for a long-stay visa. Make sure your passport is valid for a minimum of three months and that you have sufficient funds to cover the cost of your trip. Also, make sure that your application has correct information, free of errors, else it can cause your visa to be delayed.
