Founded in A.D. 1727, Jaipur is popularly known as the Pink City owing to the colour of the stone used to build many of its structures. Being the capital of Rajasthan, the city has a deep cultural history owing to the many kings who ruled the region. This can be observed in the forts, palaces, monuments, markets, art, cuisine, and festivals of the city. Jaipur, interestingly, is the first planned city of India.
With its rich culture and history, festivals have been an intrinsic part of this city and its people. They are not only a reflection of Jaipur’s heritage but also provide a stage to exhibit, share, and discuss new thoughts, experiences, and arts.
