One of the smallest states in India, Goa lies on the coast of the Arabian Sea. A popular vacation destination, it is known for its rich history, sandy beaches, scenic views, and heritage buildings. With Panjim as its capital, the State is divided into North and South Goa. Goa Sunsplash

18^th - 19^th February, 2023

Dedicated to the celebration of reggae music, Goa Sunsplash is all set for its seventh edition from 18 to 19 February, 2023. With performers from around the world such as Anthony B., BFR Sound System, Bombay Bassment, Reggae Rajahs, and others, this Festival has given a platform for the reggae music culture to not only establish a footing in the country but also grow in terms of its popularity. While reggae is the heartbeat of the festival, Middle Eastern, Indian folk, African, Latin, and hip-hop music is also featured. This annual event has yoga and dance workshops, a flea market, food stalls, panel discussions, and of course, multiple music stages.

Travel tips

Here are some travel tips one should know before visiting Goa

• Goa experiences moderate weather throughout the year. However, June to August are peak summer months followed by monsoon. So, pack your clothes accordingly.
• Keep a check of your belongings and avoid carrying too much cash.
• You can hire two-wheelers or cars for local travel, easily. If you rent a two-wheeler, make sure to wear a helmet.
• Many tourist spots, like churches, may not allow photography. Seek permission before you click a picture or a video.
• Goa is a popular tourist destination. Make sure you make your bookings much in advance.

How to reach

By air: Goa has two international airports, Dabolim and Mopa International Airports. Dabolim Airport is located 29 km from the state’s capital, Panjim, while Mopa Airport is 34 km away. IndiGo operates multiple non-stop, weekly flights to Goa and all other key locations.

By train: Margao, Vasco-da-Gama, Karmali, and Thivim are the railway stations connecting Goa to the rest of the country.

By bus: Goa is well-connected with neighbouring cities via the National Highways - NH4A, NH17, and NH17A. Tourists can either drive down, hire a taxi, or use the bus service. For the latter, there is the state-owned Kadamba Transport Corporation, along with many private bus operators.

Travelling within the city

You can explore Goa using public transport, like the bus, or hire a taxi. Additionally, you can easily rent a two-wheeler or a car.
