How to reach Indira Gandhi International Airport?
The Delhi Airport is spread over 5,106 acres in Delhi and is surrounded by Delhi NCR. To make your travel to the airport easy and efficient, have a look at the different ways you can reach the airport.
- By bus – A low-cost and efficient way to travel to the Indira Gandhi International airport is via the shuttle bus service facility. These buses run on CNG to reduce pollution in our city. The shuttle service runs every 30 mins and connects major hustling parts of Delhi from Connaught Place to the Interstate Bus Terminal to the IGI Airport. This service is open 24/7. These are state-owned DTC buses that stop at the bus stop opposite Centaur Hotel.
- Metro – The Airport Express metro is one of the easiest ways to reach the IGI Airport. This high-speed metro links the Delhi Airport to New Delhi and other parts of NCR. This is the Orange Line, and it takes approximately 23 mins to reach the airport from the most active parts of Delhi.
- Cabs/ taxis – There are a plethora of cab services that you can avail of to reach the Indira Gandhi international airport on time. This post-paid and more comfortable service will ensure your safety and work around the clock.

Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal information
The Delhi IGI Airport is a significant destination for IndiGo, along with a few others. We operate more than150 flights between Delhi and other key locations in India and abroad. The 3 terminals, Terminal 1, 2, and 3, are separately located and connected via cab/shuttle bus.
Terminal 1(C-D)
This terminal is exclusively for budgeted domestic airlines, including IndiGo. There used to be two separate buildings, but now there is Terminal 1D which has expanded halls and a capacity of holding 30 million passengers and staff.
Terminal 2
Recently revamped Terminal 2 of Indira Gandhi international airport is home to the low-cost carriers, including IndiGo. IndiGo operates about one-third of its domestic flights from this terminal. The terminal has many key features to provide a hassle-free experience to flyers, including adequate check-in counters, X-ray machines, baggage reclaim belts, and aerobridges.
All flights numbered from 6E 2000 to 6E 2999 will depart from and arrive at Terminal 2. Shuttle services are available connecting the international and domestic terminals. And for passengers from Terminal 1 concourses, complimentary golf cart services are available.
Terminal 3
Terminal 3 is the terminal that handles all international flights and some domestic flights. It is a two tier building, spread over 20 acres with separate floors for arrival and departure. The airport has 168 check-in counters, 78 aerobridges at 48 contact stands, 95 immigration counters, and 15 X-ray screening areas.
How to move between Delhi Airport terminals?
T2- T3
Travel time – 5 min
- Take the exit on the right side from T2 arrivals
- Signages show the pathway that goes directly to T3
- Cross the tunnel which leads to T3
- Near pillar 09-10 (next to the visitor entry ticket counter), take a lift to the 2nd floor to the T3 departure area.
Buggy services are available outside arrivals (right side exit from T2 arrivals)
T3- T2
Travel time – 5 mins
- Exit from arrivals (If arriving from an international flight please collect your checked-in bags and hand them over to our staff at terminal 2)
- Walk on the left side (towards pillar 18)
- Signages show the pathway that goes directly to T2
- Cross the road which is under the covered passage
- Cross the tunnel which leads to T2
- Take a lift to 1st floor to the T2 departure area

Important points -
- Passengers can take the baggage carts between T2 and T3
- Both the terminals are adjacent to each other. They are within walking distance and can be accessed through a clearly marked path
- Buggy services are also available to assist PRM/passenger with infant and old age passengers on a FOC basis by the airport operator
T1- T3
This requires the passenger to commute through the National Highway 8, so one must avail of the free shuttle or cab. Estimated time: 45 min.
